We need your help!

We are excited to share that the Greene County Historical Society (GCHS) has been awarded a generous $887,000 matching grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to complete the interior of the Meadow Ridge Heritage Barn.

In the summer of 2017, GCHS acquired an original 19th-century hay barn that stood along Route 81 in Coxsackie, several miles from our headquarters at the Bronck Museum. The barn was carefully disassembled, relocated to our campus, and reconstructed on the site of a historic hay barn that once stood there. When completed, the Meadow Ridge Heritage Barn will provide a beautiful, multi-purpose venue for the Society's educational programs, community events, and special gatherings.

Because this is a matching grant, every dollar we raise will help unlock the full grant award. We are seeking your support to help us meet this goal and bring us one step closer to completing this exciting project.

To help raise the required matching funds, we will host Echoes of the Past, History & Hors d'oeuvres on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at The Wire in Coxsackie, New York. The afternoon will feature light hors d'oeuvres, presentations by Greene County Historian Jonathan Palmer and other local historians, live music, a silent auction, and raffles.
