Join Greene County Historian Jonathan Palmer at Left Bank Ciders, 150 Water Street in Catskill NY 12414 on July 12 at 2PM for a photographic lecture celebrating the 220th anniversary of the Village of Catskill! This slide show lecture to benefit the work of the Greene County Historical Society will feature early maps, documents, and photographs discussing the history of the community that became the gateway to America's first vacationland. Attendees are encouraged to drop in, grab a beverage, and sit back for an entertaining historical journey. The lecture is free of charge, but donations to support the Greene County Historical Society are encouraged.

On the steps of the County Court House on Main Street in Catskill, Greene County will be celebrating America 250 ,There will be a ceremony at 5pm at the Court House followed by a celebration along Main Street. The street will be closed from the Rip Van Winkle statue to the red light where sidewalk sales, live entertainment, cafe areas, demonstrations, vendor tables and children’s activities will take place.

Step back in time on the Tour of Homes, where you can explore stunning historic spaces from elegant Victorian houses to churches dating back to the 1830s. Local homeowners open their doors for this special event, all set against a backdrop of beautiful seasonal foliage.

The Greene County Historical Society Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Pegasus Restaurant located at 10885 State Rte 9W in Coxsackie at 9:30am.  A breakfast will be served.  The cost is $20 (cash or check to GCHS) at the door.  This is also a time when we recognize 2025 Volunteers.  Please email operations@gchistory.org to make a reservation.
